The new Recurly integration is live for all accounts opened on or after January 11, 2024. For existing accounts using Recurly, the new integration will be rolled out in the coming weeks. We’ll be in touch about the migration so you know what to expect.
At ChartMogul we pride ourselves on helping you draw meaningful insights by giving you visibility over your subscription metrics. That’s why, over the past year, we’ve been working on upgrading and enhancing our billing system integrations to give you a better experience. We’ve already completed significant upgrades to our Stripe and Chargebee integrations, and now, Recurly.
The new integration with Recurly improves transparency, accuracy, and gives you more control.
More accuracy in reporting of Recurly data in ChartMogul
There were several limitations with our previous Recurly integration. For starters, on a customer’s subscription table, ChartMogul couldn’t separate new and add-on subscriptions and would group them together. With the new integration, each event can be viewed separately, allowing you to more accurately assess how add-ons are driving revenue. Subscription quantity reporting is also more accurate as these line items are now separate.
In the previous version of the integration, ChartMogul could not distinguish between refunds and credits when a subscription was downgraded. These were classified as refunds, even when no payment was transferred and a customer’s account was credited. Now you can see these separately, leading to a better understanding of your data and transactions.
Another improvement is the ability to report on failed transactions accurately. Previously we could only capture failed transactions when invoices were written-off or marked as failed.
Gain more control by auditing and troubleshooting data mapping
With the new integration, you’ll have access to tables that show how data is mapped from Recurly to ChartMogul. If any discrepancies in your reporting arise, audit the data yourself and remedy issues without having to contact our support team.
Export more data points to your data warehouse
In the previous version of the integration, it was only possible to send calculated data from ChartMogul (Customers; MRR movements) to your data warehouse. With the new version of the integration, you can now export Source data (your Recurly data mapped to ChartMogul’s data model), leading to a more robust integration with your endpoint data analysis system.
